Bree Loewen

Author / Climber / Mountain Rescue Volunteer

Bree Loewen is a past training chair and a current board member for Seattle Mountain Rescue. She has helped hundreds of injured climbers, skiers, and other outdoor enthusiasts who ran into misfortune in the Cascade mountains over the better part of two decades.

During those years she has also spent time working as an EMT for a private ambulance company, a climbing ranger on Mount Rainier, a full-time mom, a volunteer fire fighter, secretary for her daughter’s co-op preschool, a volunteer fire chaplain, watershed inspector, hospice volunteer, paramedic student, city planning board member, school-bus driver, and nursing student.

Bree and has written for Rock and Ice and Alpinist magazines. In her spare time she goes climbing, then comes home and bakes fruit pies. Found is her second book.
